Obituary

Thomas Stephen Valleau, 81, joined his beloved wife Patricia on April 17, 2026.

Born in Morristown, New Jersey, on February 1, 1945, Thomas was the son of Thomas & Myrtle Valleau. He graduated from Morristown High School in 1963. Thomas then attended Franklin & Marshall College, where he formed enduring friendships and was President of Phi Sigma Kappa. Thomas then proudly served his country as a lieutenant in the United States Navy.

Following his military service, Thomas earned his law degree from Seton Hall University.

Thomas married the love of his life, Patricia in 1969 and built a beautiful life together, raising their two sons, Todd and Troy. They first made their home in Lake Hopatcong, where Thomas treasured time spent with friends and neighbors on Henry Street and at The Windlass Restaurant. In 1983, Thomas and his family built their dream home in Hampton Township, NJ, which became a gathering place for family and friends.

Wherever Thomas was, whether at The Windlass, with family or in his later years as a substitute teacher, he was known for his wit. He always showed kindness towards others, modeling strength and respect for his family. Memories recently shared of Thomas often include words of gratitude and trusted friendship.

Thomas was predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia, in December of 2024, as well as by his brothers, David and William. He is survived by his loving brother Robert of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey; his sons, Todd (Christa) of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, and Troy (Jenna) of Layton, New Jersey; and his four grandchildren, Ava, Hunter, Jordan, and Clay Valleau, who brought him his greatest joy.

Thomas’s life will be remembered during a repast and Celebration of Life at a later date.
